The 1st International Baltic Ballet Festival (IBBF)
in Riga - April 1996, to coincide with the International Day of Dance; participated - ballet soloists and associations from nine Baltic Sea states - Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Sweden. 1996. gadā Starptautiskās Dejas dienas ietvaros ar dejas valdzinājumu sevi pieteica Starptautiskais Baltijas baleta festivāls. Pirmajā festivālā piedalījās deviņu Baltijas jūras valstu - Dānijas, Zviedrijas, Somijas, Igaunijas, Latvijas, Lietuvas, Krievijas, Polijas un Vācijas baleta solisti un kolektīvi. Kopš tā brīža ar festivāla direktores Litas Beiris iniciatīvu Latvijas auditorija tiek iepazīstināta ne tikai ar klasiskā baleta daudzveidību, bet atklāj arī avangarda dejas šarmu un pievilcību. Starptautiskais Baltijas baleta festivāls „No klasiskas līdz avangardam” ir vienīgais baleta notikums Latvijā, kas skatītājiem piedāvā pasaules klases dejotāju, horeogrāfu, baleta teātru un kompāniju priekšnesumus, apvienojot klasiskās tradīcijas ar laikmetīgo skatījumu. Starptautiskais Baltijas baleta festivāls sākās ar atklāšanas koncertu Rīgas Dzelzceļa stacijā, piedāvājot kompaktu, taču izaicinoši dinamisku laikmetīgās dejas garā ieturētu programmu. Festivāla atklāšanas pasākumā skatītajus iepriecināja Klaipēdas Valsts muzikālā teātra baleta dejotāji un džeza grupa "Old City". Read more ...
